What Makes Me Insecure

Tuesday, November 13, 2018

We have all dealt with insecurities at one point in our lives (or maybe multiple times for most of us normal girls). So it shouldn't be a big deal if i open up to you about my insecurities.

I used to have so much confidence in me and for the past few years, i feel like my self esteem is going a downward spiral. 😞 I did a lot of reflecting on the matter and I discovered that one thing that causes me to feel like crap and ultimately, lose my self-esteem.

Words.

You probably have heard of the saying, "words can make or break a person."

It really can and I'm really breaking right now, just hanging onto the last thread of hope I have in me.

Our words are stones. We are nothing but stone throwers with each word we speak. If our words contain beauty people treasure them. If our words contain pain people toss them aside, but not until after they have had to deal with the damage our words have caused.

Degrading words and/or insults that have been planted in me by people I care about and love have watered my insecurities to grow into monsters I have never imagined them to be. And as much as I would like to simply ignore these words, I just can't; especially when it's from the people you love and care about.

I know I am not a perfect person and I have also been guilty of speaking ill towards another person sometimes even though I have been trying my best not to. I just wanna say that I hope we can all be kind-er and more gentle in speech especially to those we love and those who love us because it means the world to them. Trust me, I know.

No matter how much a person has hurt you, it is still you who gets to choose the words you will say. It is still you who will choose to hurt a person back or not. There is no justification for putting another person down. Don't even try to justify, just apologize. Sometimes you wouldn't even have to makeup for it.

I am so sorry I have been posting such heavy content. I just had to write about this.

here's what the bible says about our speech:

Proverbs 16:24 “Kind words are like honey–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”

Proverbs 15: 1 “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but hard words stir up anger.”

Proverbs 15: 4 “A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.”
